INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF HOME APPLIANCES MANUFACTURERS AND SUPPLIERS IN EUROPE
On 20th of May 2015, representatives of manufacturers, distributors and experts in the field of household appliances met at III International Forum of Home Appliance Manufacturers, an annual conference dedicated to the future of this sector in Poland and worldwide. This year, for the first time, the event was organized in cooperation with the Łódź Special Economic Zone, that supports development of this industry in our country.
The International Forum for Home Appliance Manufacturers, set up back in 2013 by Muller Die Lila Logistik, a logistic organization, is a response to the need for discussion on the issues related to enhancement of the position of the Polish household appliance segment. The conference has quickly been appreciated within the industry, since the organizers pick interesting topics, speakers and participants.
An essential component of the event concept is its location. This time, the guests were invited to the Łódzkie Province, to “the best hotel of the year 2014 in Central and Eastern Europe”, according to the Eurobuild ranking. Fabryka Wełny Hotel & Spa in Pabianice, as this is the place we are talking about, was a specific symbol of the transformation and revitalization, that could be seen in Łodź and the surrounding area.
In addition, the prestigious award was given to the Łódź Special Economic Zone. Within FDI Poland Investor Awards, the Łódź Special Economic Zone received a prize for the best economic zone in Poland. “We establish optimum development conditions for manufacturers of household appliances and such companies as B/S/H or Indesit can confirm it. We believe that other investors will follow them.” – said Tomasz Sadzyński, President of the Łódź Special Economic Zone.
This year Forum agenda was based on the questionnaires carried out with the participants of the last year edition. It comprised international subjects related to the situation in Ukraine and Russia, strengthening of Turkey in Europe and expansion opportunities in Asia. Moreover, the significant focus was directed towards e-commerce and the changes imposed on the household appliance industry. The special guest of the Forum was professor Peter Klaus, D.B.A./Boston University.
The foreign guests took part in the panel on strengths and weaknesses of the Polish household appliance market and investments, that were necessary to keep the sector develop dynamically and not let it be overtaken by the competitors from other countries. “We do hope that meetings with the participation of key players from the Polish household appliance market and sharing the experience, facilitate the search for an optimum expansion direction, and a presence of foreign visitors will bring an international perspective to the overall discussion, which is valuable, particularly in terms of exports.” – said a founder and organizer of the Forum, Michael Müller, CEO of Müller – Die lila Logistik. One of the conference guests was Jos Marinus, Chairman of European Logistics Association.
Year after year the Forum of Home Appliance Manufacturers grows bigger and attracts more and more participants. In 2014 over 100 representatives from top household appliance companies in Poland and business environments (representatives of local government institutions, special economic zones, transport companies, economists and analysts) took part in this event. The strength of the conference is both the professional potential and the networking senior managers.
